Shameless Plug, then Onward and Upward

Anyway, I wanted to point out another trend that goes hand in hand with the naturals that we're seeing, but takes it to another level: fantasy. Feathers. Feathers are everywhere. They were a big deal at fashion week and are showing up all different ways. Earrings with a little feather drop. Tops with a feather screen print or silkscreen. Pretty, and very natural looking. Here's where the fantasy aspect comes in: sleeve cuffs and skirt hems edged in feathers- or whole dresses made of feathers! This is a very funky look, which in my opinion looks a little too swan lake-ish and kind of channels bjork from a few years ago. There are one or two that roll by that are ok, but for the most part you need a LOT of attitude and confidence to pull this off, because people will definitely comment! So overall, I love the feather jewelry (this stuff showed up a couple years ago, faded into the background, and is back in a big way again), and I'm definitely a fan of the feather prints, I'm down with the feathers that lay a bit flat on dresses- they add texture and a bit of drama- just not really feeling the full poofy feathered skirts.
